If you don't like the terms, don't sign up." Hmm.. nobody is forcing you to use a credit card? If you are an American citizen and need to rent a hotel room, a car, ..or quite simply, to build credit, then yes, you need to use a credit card - otherwise you are screwed. Some people are born into poverty, and therefore unable to build credit with any positive terms/offers. A cap on the credit card rates would have meant a cap at 15%.. which is still a very good return on an investment for banks let alone anyone. Anything beyond that percentage is downright outrageous. I am saying this as someone with excellent credit that sees the daily struggle of my fellow citizens who do not.
